<span style="font-size: small;"><span class="messageBody" data-ft="{"type":3}">When
God foiled the building of the Tower of Babel on the plains of Shinar
he did so in order that the people might be scattered into separate
nations and no longer be one people with one language (Genesis 11:1-9).
In the previous chapter, we are told that the sons of Noah--Shem, Ham,
and Japheth--and their descendants would occupy specified parts of the
earth. For example, we read in Genesis 10: 5 regarding the sons of
Japheth: "By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided into their
lands, everyone after his tongue, after their families, in their
nations." It is clear, then, that God intended men to live separately
with their own languages, kith and kin, and nations. Therefore, nations
(i.e. peoples) have a Biblical mandate to exist and thereby to protect
their interests from those who would destroy them either by war or more
subtle means.<br /> <br /> Because of a resurgence of godless
multiculturalism and universalism (the new Tower of Babel), white
Western Christians are threatened with extinction as a separate and
identifiable people because of their own weakness and lack of Biblical
understanding about the God-ordained principles of nationhood. While all
other "nations" (i.e. groups based on race and ethnicity and "blood and
soil") are encouraged to preserve themselves and their cultures, white
Christians in the West (the descendants of Japheth) are told that we
must give up everything we have in order to placate those different from
ourselves and who bear some alleged grievance toward us (i.e. slavery,
"racism," hatred, etc.) Sadly, it is often "Christian" ministers who
lead the charge toward multiculturalism, pluralism, and universalism in
the name of God himself. But they are false teachers.<br /> <br /> By the
grace of God, the philosophies and institutions of Christian liberty are
the creations of Western European whites. In this age of rabid
"political correctness," this salient truth is buried beneath the
monumental lie that all men (and hence all cultures and civilizations)
are "created equal." But truth is a stubborn and resilient thing. And
the truth is that for at least the past 400 years, Western Christian
(i.e. European-American) civilization alone has enjoyed the fruits of
ordered liberty and abundant material prosperity. Elsewhere in the world
despotism has been the order of the day. However, let us not boast for
the simple reason that God has ordained things thusly out of His eternal
wisdom. The Western world's blessings of the Gospel, liberty, and
prosperity are just that, a blessing. In Acts 16: 6-9, Paul and Silas
were headed for Asia to spread the Gospel, but the Holy Spirit forbade
them to go into that region. Instead, the Spirit led them, by means of
Paul's dream, westward into Macedonia. Thus the Gospel was forbidden to
Asia in that day. Conversely, it was God's will that it be spread into
Europe. Of this we cannot boast. Rather, we can only thank God that in
His providence He saw fit to bless our ancestors with His word and all
that flows from obedience to it.<br /> <br /> Our white European-American
ancestors had no trouble enunciating the obvious truth that Western
Christian civilization was superior to all others. Moreover, they had no
hesitation about defending it, as their God-given patrimony, against
those who would denigrate or destroy it. Just a century ago, our
civilization was still distinguished by a robustness and self-confidence
born out of a realization of the natural superiority of the West and
its ways. None but the most crack-brained utopians believed in social,
political, economic, and cultural equality, nor did they believe in the
equality of the races in intellect and accomplishment. Unfortunately,
the present century has witnessed the old order turned upon its head.<br /> <br />
Today, the descendants of those European-American whites behave as a
shamed and defeated people. Not only do they refuse to proclaim the
God-ordained superiority of their own civilization and its venerable
institutions; they also refuse to defend the very ethnic and racial
particularities that gave form and definition to that civilization.
"White" has become a dirty word, and few whites can even use the term
now without wincing and casting furtive glances to and fro. But to deny
one's identity in such a manner is to dishonor the God who made us what
we are and who separated us from the other races for His own eternal
purposes. While blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and other groups revel in
their natural peculiarities, whites will not dare even admit that race
is one of the primary factors that determines who we are and what we
create on this earth. This is a simple and fundamental fact of God's
creation. We are who we are simply because He has commanded it. <br /> <br />
Because Christian liberty has been the product of Western civilization,
should the white stock of Europe and American disappear through racial
amalgamation or outright genocide, then both liberty and civilization as
we have come to know them will cease to exist. As whites have lost the
will to defend their inheritance, there has been a corresponding
increase in the willingness of the colored races to destroy Western
Christian civilization and replace it with their own vision of the "good
society." That vision, or nightmare, as it were, will have no truck
with the rule of law, equity, or fairness. It will be predicated on the
"intimidation factor"--the employment of brute force by the strong
against the weak. In short, it will be "payback time" for the alleged
mistreatment that minorities-cum-majorities have suffered at the hands
of the White Devils.<br /> <br /> Why do white Americans, in particular
those who can trace their lineage to the founding stock, lack the
backbone to stand for the civilization given them by their forebears? A
major reason is collective guilt. The white man first came into
widespread contact with the darker races through the institution of
slavery in the seventeenth century. Slavery (and not "man stealing") was
successfully defended from a Biblical standpoint through the War for
Southern Independence and beyond, but after the South's defeat and
subsequent "reconstruction" the institution's legitimacy was
systematically undermined in the name of "equality" and misappropriated
"Christian ethics." During the first half of the twentieth century,
Communists in Europe and America seized on the issues of "equality,"
"racism," and "white guilt" and began to use them as battering rams to
knock down the gates of the old social, political, and economic order in
the West. Moreover, the bogus work of leftist intellectuals such as
Franz Boas and Margaret Mead told white Europeans and Americans that all
cultures were basically equal (i.e. what became known as "cultural
relativism"). <br /> <br /> Slavery and "racism" (the latter term was
coined by the Bolsheviks), then, became instruments wielded by the left
to destroy the very civilization, which allowed them the freedom and
leisure to formulate and articulate their ideas in the first place. This
nihilistic predilection shared by all leftists appears paradoxical at
first glance; however, upon closer inspection it reveals a deep-seated
hatred of God-given order and rationality, hallmarks of the white
Western world. The leftist embrace of the antithesis of ordered
Christian liberty manifested itself early on in a fascination with the
primitiveness of non-white, non-Christian peoples and cultures. It was
the "Enlightenment" philosophes in France who first became enamored with
the idea of the "noble savage" who had not been corrupted by the vile
civilization of the West.<br /> <br /> The leftists' success in introducing
the concept of "racism" into the American social and political lexicon
has led today to increasingly shrill demands from black leaders for
set-asides, affirmative action, reparations, and other sorts of
race-specific preferential treatment. This is clearly a policy of
economic blackmail intended to transfer yet more wealth from whites to
blacks. It also is another means of eliciting from whites an admission
of guilt in order than their civilization might be further discredited.
But instead of whites owing blacks reparations for slavery and its
alleged attendant ills, for instance, blacks in reality owe white
America (especially the South) a debt that likely will be neither
acknowledged nor paid. Sold into slavery by their own people (or by the
Muslims whom many blacks hold in such high regard today), Africans were
transported out of a heathen and idolatrous continent and set down in
the most Christian section of America--the South. There they were
instructed in the Christian religion of their masters, given
cradle-to-grave security, and generally treated quite humanely. In
short, they were given a chance to live in an advanced civilization and
have prospered mightily because of it. All one has to do is contrast the
lot of today black Americans with that of his brethren back in Africa
to see the truthfulness of this assertion.<br /> <br /> The South's
military defeat in 1865 and the subsequent sudden emancipation of three
and one-half million slaves was a disaster for whites and blacks alike.
Former slaves, who found themselves on top in many areas of the
Reconstruction-era South, generally proved unfit to hold positions of
authority. Spurred on by the Radical Republican leaders, these black
legislators and newly enlisted soldiers earned the enmity of
disenfranchised whites who saw the destruction of their society at hand.
Therefore, once the Union military occupation forces withdrew from the
South in 1876, white Southerners immediately began to reassert their
authority over a war-ravaged society. During the period from 1865-77,
whites in the South had seen enough of Negro rule to understand that
their [i.e. white] civilization would perish should black be given the
vote and thus be permitted to control the political system.<br /> <br />
Whereas whites and blacks in the antebellum South had lived and worked
together in close proximity, once the situation changed at the end of
the war (especially with the passage of the Reconstruction amendments)
some new arrangement became necessary if whites were to preserve their
society. Few Southerners of the late nineteenth century believed that
whites and blacks could live together in a state of equality without
serious social consequences for both races. Therefore, postbellum
Southern blacks were disenfranchised and "Jim Crow" laws resulted in a
segregated South (today "Jim Crow" has been replaced by what might be
called "Jim Snow" policies that discriminate against whites). Though
these measures white Southerners were able to exert some control over a
still primitive black population. Nonetheless, the “black community" of
the late nineteenth century began to experience problems largely absent
prior to 1865: black-on-black crime, illegitimacy, abject poverty,
disease, and family disintegration, among others. Despite trillions
spent on welfare and other programs, these problems--and many
others--still plague the "black community" in the present day. Clearly
there is an ever-present problem here that emancipation and money did
not solve.<br /> <br /> Today, it is fashionable for black leaders and
their white liberal allies to blame slavery and "racism" for the
continuing ills that beset the "black community." These ills were not
eradicated by the "Civil Rights" revolution, and now black failure must
have a fresh excuse: institutional "racism." To the Jesse Jacksons and
Al Sharptons of the world the only remedy is the destruction of white
Western civilization in which blacks and other minority victim groups
cannot compete and its replacement with a society based on the
principles and mores (usually some form of Marxism) of dark-skinned
peoples. This is why whites (beginning with Southerners, the easiest
targets) and their way of life must be demonized and then eradicated.
Blacks and other minorities claim they simply cannot get a fair shake in
the white man's world.<br /> <br /> The cold facts of history tell us that
blacks have never created anything approximating a civilization in the
Western sense of the term. Indeed, history gives the lie to the bogus
claims of the Afro-centrists who hail Mother Africa as the cradle of a
glorious civilization that the white man stole and made his own. What
progress and light that did shine on the Dark Continent came only as a
result of nineteenth-century European colonialism. Once those colonial
regimes were dismantled after World War Two, Africa began a steady
descent once again into decadence. One need only look at Zimbabwe (the
former prosperous and orderly country of Rhodesia) and Nelson Mandela's
South Africa to see the deleterious effects of white disestablishment
and black rule. Again, it is a cold and hard fact that if white
Christian European-Americans should lose control over the North American
continent to non-white minorities, then it will cease to be the
civilized place we have known for the past several hundred years. As
blacks and other minorities (e.g. Hispanics in the American Southwest)
have gained political control over towns and cities, the decline in the
quality of life for whites has become precipitous. Whites have quietly
deserted the very places their forefathers built rather than stay and be
subjected to the crime and disorder that frequently comes with minority
rule. Especially intolerable is the never-reported epidemic of
black-on-white violent crime. Whites, then, do not leave because they
are "racists" (whatever that means), but because they fear for their
lives and property in an unfamiliar and inhospitable environment. They
have become cultural outsiders.<br /> <br /> By inflating the moral worth
of non-white cultures while at the same time diminishing the stature of
white Western civilization, the left has succeeded in lowering the
cultural aspirations of the white man. Why listen to Mozart when you can
have Rap? Today, because of the influence of the MTV-Hollywood nexus,
it is the epitome of "cool" among young whites to act like blacks or
other minorities. Baggy pants, backward-turned caps, Rap music, sexual
license, all are manifestations of this descent to the lowest cultural
common denominator. And stemming naturally from this sad state of
affairs is not a sense of cultural equality but of cultural
superiority--non-white over white. It is then but a short series of
steps from white guilt over slavery and "racism," to equality, to
multiculturalism and diversity, to hate crimes and hate speech, to the
ultimate compromise of racial (i.e. national) extinction through
miscegenation. At that point (which we are approaching rapidly in the
early 21st century) the old European-American Christian civilization
will be ready for the dustbin of history.<br /> <br /> The appeal of
non-white-dominated popular culture (especially sports and
entertainment) combined with low white birth rates and massive Third
World immigration threatens to engulf whites both culturally and
genetically. What will happen when America is no longer a "white
Christian nation?" Already we have seen that the "Civil Rights"
revolution of the 1950s and 1960s (the Second Reconstruction) was more
about special privileges for blacks and other minorities than about
"equality." Moreover, guilt-ridden whites have acquiesced to a campaign
of silence about the epidemic of black-on-white violent crime (the
media's dirty little secret that never gets reported). It is an open
secret today that many black and Hispanic leaders are calling on their
followers to "get even" with Whitey for perceived past injustices. For
proof, I give you the current “Revenge for Trayvon” campaign egged on by
the President and the Justice Department.<br /> <br /> There are, however,
some blacks who see the truth and are willing to speak it. One is
syndicated columnist and George Mason University economist Walter
Williams, who opined that the antebellum South was absolutely right to
defend its largely Anglo-Celtic civilization from the machinations of
Yankee Abolitionist meddlers. Then there is the late Elizabeth Wright,
whose views undoubtedly shook liberal egalitarians to their very core.
Wright noted, "I am not fooled by the 'diversity' folk into believing
that the institutions of this society will be preserved and honored by
those who happen to share my gene pool. . . . The multicultural
ideologues . . . make it clear that they view these institutions with
contempt. They are working for nothing less than total control. . . ." <br /> <br />
Wright indeed pegged the multicultural egalitarians correctly. Raw
power is their one and only end, and they will use any means necessary
to obtain it. And when they do, white European-Americans will be their
first target. Then we will understand what "equality" really means.
Wright believed that "when these people [i.e. blacks and other
minorities] come to power, their major aim will be to institute their
'enlightenment' policies in all quarters of society. . . . I have heard
them refer to liberties such as freedom of speech as no more than . . .
'jive ass claptrap' . . ." She continued: "I predict that, once in
power, they will actually create laws to impose interracial unions, in
order to finally bring about the 'raceless' dream society. . . . He . . .
who insists on union with his own kind will be dubbed an intractable
racist and sent off for further re-education."<br /> <br /> It goes without
saying that few whites today would have the intestinal fortitude to say
what Elizabeth Wright said, and that is precisely the problem. Even in
the benighted and "racist" South, most whites will no longer speak and
act in their own interests. However, the situation in Dixie, as bad as
it is (especially in the big cities, yuppie suburbs, and wimpy
churches), is much better than elsewhere. If a spirited defense of
white, Western, Christian civilization is to be mounted on these shores,
it will be in the South among that remnant of proud Anglo-Celts who
remember the glories of their past. As likely as not, the South will
find it necessary to break away from a decrepit Union that has already
succumbed to the poison of multiculturalism and then form a new polity
dominated by the mores and institutions of our own civilization.<br /> <br />
Once again, Elizabeth Wright (and don't you feel ashamed that a black
woman dared do our talking for us?) seemed to understand our predicament
better than most whites themselves. She saw "no deep-seated, heartfelt
opposition to this trend [i.e. multiculturalism] except among white
'Southrons.' Other types of conservatives talk tough until an epithet is
hurled their way. Then they fold." Undoubtedly she made reference here
to the Republican Party. Wright concluded her remarkable essay with a
call to arms for white Southerners: "Who is most likely to fight the
hardest to maintain and conserve this extraordinary experiment in
freedom. . . ? Who else but the actual descendants of those Founders,
that's who. That means you, white Southrons. Once you lay down the
sword, that will be the end of resistance. . . . I view the battle as
one that can only be accomplished by whites. . . . I would think that
most whites would want to be among the last who would destroy that which
came out of the genius of their ancestors. So, if a 'white' South would
guarantee the preservation of those institutions . . . then let's have a
White South."<br /> <br /> Wright's clarion call was refreshing indeed.
But it is white Southerners themselves who must muster the courage to
act and act soon. Demographers predict that whites will be a minority in
this country by 2040 (this is already true in California and several
other States). If we are not willing to fight to preserve that glorious
heritage bequeathed us by men of honor, genius, and principle, then we
truly deserve the disinheritance that will befall us within the next
half century. We are sowing the wind because of our inaction regarding
immigration and multiculturalism. We will likely reap the whirlwind.<br /> <br /> Michael Hill<br /> Killen, Alabama</span></span></h6>Mark Jenkinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06639344026683731792noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6263945193839724997.post-21194163080970966072012-03-13T10:59:00.002-07:002012-03-13T10:59:55.979-07:00Announcing The 2012 LS National Conference<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 16px;"> </span><br />

<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px;">J. Michael Hill - LS President</span> <div align="justify"> <span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Secession talk is spreading like wildfire across the country. Polls tell us that support for the States reasserting their sovereignty under the 10th Amendment is higher than ever. Financial and political failure and ineptitude point up the invalidity of large nation-states and empires in the early 21st century. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The prospect of devolution cuts across political and ideological lines; left and right in the U.S. both support measures to restrain the illicit power of Washington, DC. Nor is the anti-DC movement restricted to one particular historic American region. Vermont, Alaska, and Hawaii bear this out. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> But as a native Southerner, I am primarily concerned about the South and her future. I love my own people better than anyone else. Will our cultural inheritance, our liberty, and our people be best served by remaining within an increasingly alien and hostile “union” or by going our own way as an independent confederation of States? </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> There are plenty of well-intentioned voices suggesting that the South remain part of the current political, cultural, social, and economic arrangement. Within that arrangement these people apparently hope to defend our Southern inheritance of liberty in all its tangible and non-tangible manifestations. Their great hope is to convince the ruling elite that they must reform themselves for the betterment of all, including the traditional South. Furthermore, theirs is a tacit acknowledgement that if only the South’s foes would see the truth, then they would embrace our Southern inheritance as the panacea for all of America’s ills. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Permit me now to object. The South’s elitist enemies do not care about truth or about how sublime we think our way of life to be. On the contrary, they consider us as expendable rednecks. They care about power and power alone. The reason they view our flags and other concrete symbols of our civilization as threatening, divisive, and offensive is because the ideas and people that these symbols represent <i>are threatening, divisive, and offensive to their worldview.</i> And all challenges to their power must be eradicated by whatever means necessary. Do you really believe that the South’s enemies are open to reasonable discussion? </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> When we and our symbols cease to be threatening, divisive, and offensive to our enemies, then it can mean only one thing. We have lost. For our own sake and that of our posterity, may we always be a stumbling block to our enemies. May we always be prepared to fight tooth and nail for our land and our people. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The voluntary Union of sovereign States given us by the Founders is now a dead thing of the past. The revolution that destroyed the Constitution and our old republic has come and gone and most folks do not even realize it. What many “conservatives” today seek to conserve is only a pale imitation of long departed principles and the way of life they once informed. In short, the current polity is well past meaningful reformation. Adhering to it in the hope that it can be reformed is a suicidal course for the South and her people. The indisputable evidence of this is before our eyes daily, yet many are still blinded to it. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The South is now ruled by an alien class and ideology that are completely hostile to our historic way of life. Our values, mores, and ethics are mocked. Our people have become nothing more than voters in rigged and meaningless four-year election cycles; consumers of foreign-made trinkets and poisoned food products; cannon fodder for the empire’s aggressive foreign military campaigns; and sheep to be fleeced for higher and higher taxes and immoral bailouts of the elites. It is clear that the descendants of America’s proud and hardy founding stock have meekly acquiesced in their dispossession and a resulting third-class status behind loud and domineering minority groups and Third World immigrants. But we still smile and hope for the best. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The imperial executive branch in Washington has implemented a police state at home and a quagmire of conflict abroad. Congress rubber-stamps whatever the executive branch desires. The courts mock truth, justice, and God at every turn. Our own State governments, poisoned finally by the miasmic vapors from the Potomac, have become the preserves of toadies, hacks, and sycophants who envy what Washington, DC, is able to do to the rights and liberties of the people. The media ridicule us for our dress and speech, manners and mores. Our schools and colleges have long lapsed from our control, teaching our young to despise their ancestors and themselves. Big business funds our enemies to the tune of hundreds of millions a year. The Founders’ Constitution is long dead and buried, replaced with a false document forged in the wake of the bloody subjugation of the Confederacy. I ask you, then, why <i>should</i> we stay and subject ourselves to the machinations of this organized criminal enterprise in DC? <i>Could</i> we not do better on our own? At the very least, we would be ruling our own house according to our own accepted standards. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The Southern Cause has long been ridiculed as the Lost Cause. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. The real Lost Cause is the American Empire and any attempts to reform it. Southern independence is the only realistic hope we have of leaving our own children and grandchildren a bright and prosperous future. Without our independence, we will have no way of turning back the revolution that holds the South captive. Do you really think that the socialist-fascist revolutionaries are really through with us? Do you think they will halt their perverse agenda short of total victory? And that total victory means the final destruction of all that you, dear fellow Southerner, hold dear—family, faith, and freedom. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> For those timid souls who desire to take the safe and familiar path that leads to half measure, we in The League of the South bid you to rethink your position and join with us. From the start, we have been staunch defenders of the whole measure of independence. God willing, we shall so remain. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Every man must choose for himself the path he will tread. It is human nature to seek out the easy way. That is what our enemies count on us to do. The familiar course is comfortable and reassuring and is lined with every sort of physical, emotional, and spiritual allurement. But in the end it leads to Hell. Conversely, the path that begins dark, dreary, and foreboding leads ultimately, as Scripture tells us, to the light. Those who have trod this way have often suffered mightily (examine the tribulations of Jefferson Davis, not to mention the ultimate example of our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus), and in their suffering they have found redemption for themselves, their people, and their civilization. Walking the hard, ominous path is called duty. No one who performs his duty ever really loses. Perhaps he is seen as a loser according to the world’s standards, but not according to the perfect standards of Providence. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> We do not live in the past, but the past lives in us. By all worldly accounts, our Confederate ancestors lost. Their efforts to establish an independent South did not bear fruit from 1861-65. But the ebb and flow of future events are unknown to mortal man. The seeds sown by those noble souls some 140 years ago, watered by their blood, sweat, and tears, and superintended by the unmovable hand of Providence may yet spring to life in our own day. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> If those men and women of the Confederacy were right in their day, then we who seek independence for the South are right in ours. Let us do our duty in all things, great and small, in the sure hope that the God of our fathers will indeed vindicate a just cause. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> May God answer the prayer of the humble Lee when he asked that the South be granted a name and place among the nations of the earth. As the perceptible decline of American society continues, thousands upon thousands will be added to our numbers. It is clear to all who have eyes to see and ears to hear that the entity we call The United States of America is in its death throes. It is hated abroad for its unprovoked aggression, especially in the Middle East; it is plagued by a rapidly declining dollar and a woefully bad economy, at least for the working classes; it has become a Third World-type exporter of raw materials and an importer of finished goods; it has run up massive trade deficits that cannot be sustained; it has become the world’s largest debtor nation and is in thrall to other nations which hold its outstanding debt; it is unwilling to protect its own borders against a huge influx of illegal immigration; it has abandoned the Christian principles and mores that once made it a stable and productive society; it has exported to the world a corrupt and corrupting culture of death; it has cast aside its own governing document, and its elites now rule its citizens-turned-subjects by fiat backed by force or the threat of force; it no longer has an independent press that serves as a watchdog of government; it has demeaned true patriotism and replaced it with a dangerous and chauvinistic nationalism; and it has demonized anyone who speaks ill of the regime. </div><div align="justify"> After World War Two, the phrase “Ugly American” was used to describe the pushy, know-it-all visitors who descended on the centuries-old civilizations of Europe with unwelcome advice on how to live the good life. Please understand, however, that these American travelers were not Southerners, who were largely still too poor in the middle of the 20th century to go to places such as London and Paris. Instead, the Ugly Americans were Yankees (not righteous northerners), who claim as a birthright telling others how to live. Today, it is still supercilious Yankees who give America a bad name. We are not they and they are not us! Please learn to distinguish between the two. </div><div align="justify"> Unfortunately, over 140 years of propaganda directed toward a defeated and occupied South has convinced many of our Southern brothers and sisters that the Yankees were right. We believed we were a poor and backwards people, living in a benighted region with no hope for the future. But in reality, nothing was further from the truth. Today, the South, with a population of over 100 million and an economy behind only those of the remainder of the United States, China, and Japan (and considerably ahead of Germany, France, and Britain), is truly the epitome of an authentic nation. That is, we are a distinct people, steeped in tradition, living on our own lands. We have all that is necessary to offer a bright future of freedom and prosperity to our children and grandchildren. The only thing lacking at present is the will to use it for <b>our</b> benefit. </div><div align="justify"> Though Southerners have been a patient and patriotic people, our patience is wearing thin, as is our willingness to sacrifice for those who use and exploit us for their own benefit. We Southerners are the blood descendants of those who played the largest role in carving a civilization out of the North American wilderness over the past few centuries. We have seen our accomplishments belittled and our civilization stolen from us. We will no longer tolerate living under an alien ruling class motivated by an alien ideology. </div><div align="justify"> To the rest of the world we proclaim our allegiance to our own people and to our God. </span><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: small;">Dr. Michael Hill - LS President</span> <br />
<div align="justify"><span style="font-size: small;"><img align="right" src="http://dixienet.org/rights/images/board%20members/michaelhill.jpg" title="Dr. Michael Hill - LS President" /> </span><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: small;"> Those who support States rights, constitutional government, and the right of secession are now commonly called by the ruling elite right-wing extremists and potential domestic terrorists. We traditional Southerners are indeed familiar with this game. Had the term been around then, our ancestors—from Washington and Jefferson to Lee and Davis—would have been called domestic terrorists by the Brits and Yankees, respectively. As it was, they were simply called “traitors.” We reject the use of both terms for ourselves and for our forebears. Instead, we can make a good case that the real threats to domestic peace and quiet are on the other side. And yet we continue to pay them tribute and allow them to rule over us. <br />
<br />
<b>Who They Are?</b> <br />
<br />
The real domestic terrorists were (and are) those who oppose ordered Christian liberty and the worldview which upholds it. Indeed, Abe Lincoln and his minions have sired a long line of domestic terrorists, including most recently George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama (and all who aid them in their misrule). We might throw the larger part of Congress into the mix as well. <br />
<br />
Most of what the U.S. government does is beyond the bounds of its constitutional limitations. That makes it unlawful. That which is unlawful ultimately terrorizes society. Jefferson told us that the fundamental law of the land should be viewed as chains to bind a singularly dangerous beast (the general government). For a while the beast was successfully bound; however, he slipped his chains for good in 1865 and our republic of republics was lost. Today, we live under a strange combination of socialism and fascism that would surely please a Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, or Mao as much as it would disgust our Founders. <br />
<br />
How we came to this point is fairly clear—there was a slow and steady revolution, and most Americans were asleep while it patiently worked its way through virtually every institution in the land. Some of our fellow subjects still don’t realize what has transpired. But they soon will. <br />
<br />
Things were bad under Bush II. But because he and the GOP masqueraded as “conservatives,” most Americans thought all was well. But as a famous Alabamian once said, there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the two major political parties. And he was right. Bush I or Clinton; Bush II or Obama—the rhetoric may differ but the results are still the same: bigger, more intrusive, and lawless central government and less liberty and prosperity for the rest of us. Now, what little we have left in terms of liberty and property is being taken from us openly without any meaningful resistance on our part. <br />
<br />
<b>An Organized Criminal Enterprise</b> <br />
<br />
That the U.S. government is an organized criminal enterprise cannot be doubted by anyone who has kept abreast of the on-going, broad-open-daylight effort to loot the country’s wealth. The multiple trillion dollars’ worth of bailouts and related schemes have enriched even further the Money Men who pull the strings that animate the politicians, and the fleecing shows no sign of abatement. In case you’re wondering why this is being allowed to happen, remember this—your Congressmen and Senators don’t work for you; rather, they work for those who fill their campaign coffers and make election and re-election possible. They work for the Money Men, and the Money Men own “your” government lock, stock, and barrel. And they are about to own everything else . . . unless they are stopped. <br />
<br />
Don’t expect an appeal to the Constitution or to common decency to stop the criminal class from further terrorizing the country. Of the latter, they have none. And to them, the former is but a mere scrap of parchment. In fact, wasn’t it George W. Bush who called it just a “G-d damned piece of paper?” Well, in a way he was right (but for the wrong reason, of course). The great Southern political philosopher John C. Calhoun also noted that the Constitution was but an inanimate object, incapable of enforcing itself. Rather, he said, it is up to the people, in their capacity as citizens of the several sovereign States, to make sure it is enforced. He also told us: “Only power can check power.” <br />
<br />
So, in reality, we are in the mess we’re in because we have not done our job of keeping the singularly dangerous beast chained down. It has broken free and become our master and we its servants. In the process it has become exceedingly powerful as well. It holds us in the balance of life and death, or so it seems. <br />
<br />
<b>Mounting The Resistance</b> <br />
<br />
Any form of tyranny deserves a hard resistance. The current crop of domestic terrorists will not stop looting our wealth and our inheritance of liberty until we make them stop. It’s as simple as that. We Southerners ought to be the first to resist; such audacity is in our blood. But what can we do in the face of such irresistible power? First, we can psychologically withdraw our consent from the criminal class that rules over us. Our system is supposedly based on the “consent of the governed.” If you believe it still is, then withdraw your consent. Not even the hardest tyranny can exist without the support of the “drawers of water and hewers of wood” (to use an old Irish example). Once we withdraw our consent psychologically, then we can begin to withdraw it physically. Simply put, don’t work for them in any capacity and don’t give them anything you can keep out of their thieving hands. Don’t patronize their institutions. Don’t vote for anyone who runs in their pack. Remember, they are robbing you (and your posterity) blind under color of law without fear of reprisal. Make them earn what they steal from you. <br />
<br />
I have been asked by some: “How do we resist this criminal element when we have no way of getting at them?” That’s a logical question. After all, who is going to march into the bowels of DC or Wall Street and arrest the President, the Fed Chairman, the Treasury Secretary, the CEO of Goldman Sachs, or even your garden-variety Congressman or Senator? They live and work like royalty in veritable fortresses constructed and guarded with the money they’ve looted from you, the peasants. They’re also protected by “the law” (which they get to make and interpret), and if you break it they’ll lock you away or shoot you. So how do you stop this criminal element? While you may not be able to exert any direct influence on the big fish, you certainly can make life very uncomfortable for the smaller fish—the enforcers who do their dirty work on the State and local levels. <br />
<br />
History is full of examples of how occupied peoples socially ostracized their occupiers. If your community has enforcers of the present tyranny, make sure everyone knows who they are and what they’re up to. Isolate them and give no voluntary cooperation. Our rights to life, liberty, and property come from God and not from any government. Behave as if you believe this. If they tell you it is illegal to grow your own food to feed yourself and your neighbors, then grow your own food in spite of them. This restriction is not as farfetched as you might think. If they tell you to turn in your firearms, hide them away. If they show up at your door to collect them, resist. The law of self-protection is fundamental and Biblical. If they tell you it is forbidden to worship the true and living God, then do it openly in the public square. If they come to take your children, then behave like a cornered animal. Under no circumstances should you voluntarily give up your God-given rights to tyrants. They are used to a soft and acquiescing populace. Surprise them. Again, make them pay a high price for what they steal. <br />
<br />
<b>Resistance From The States</b> <br />
<br />
If you want to defend your community from the domestic terrorists, first use the proper constitutional vehicle—your State. This is where ultimate temporal sovereignty resides in our system. Of course, most (if not all) of our State governments are in the hands of men who seek the favor of the criminal class, are a part of it (or at lease aspire to be), or are scared to challenge it. But it is a much easier task to take control of your State government than it is to affect policy in Washington, DC. If your State has already passed a Sovereignty Resolution or is considering one, you have some hope. Talk with your elected State and local officials about strengthening your State Militia or State Guard (and I’m not speaking here of the National Guard—that organization is subject to federalization. It is actually part of the U.S. Army). And if you’re so inclined, join up. <br />
<br />
We can also use our counties as bulwarks against the criminal class. The County Sheriff is the principal peace officer in his jurisdiction. As such, he can lawfully tell the Feds to “Go to Hell” and stay out of his territory. He also can deputize as many of the county’s citizens as he wishes and have them armed to the teeth. No one can over-rule him within his boundaries. Make sure your current Sheriff knows his authority and to whom he answers (you and your neighbors). If he is unwilling to use his authority for the good of the people of his jurisdiction, replace him at the first opportunity. <br />
<br />
I discourage the formation of private militias except as a last resort. If your State and local officials refuse to serve the citizens and to protect them by the historic means of Nullification, Interposition, or Secession, then you may have reached the “last resort.” In that case, you have no other alternative except to bow to the will of your masters. Every free man and woman should exercise their rights as expressed in the Second Amendment. Moreover, they should be prepared to defend themselves and their families from actions that jeopardize life, liberty, and property. When political alternatives are no longer available, this is how it boils down. Let’s hope we never reach this point. <br />
<br />
<b>All We Wish Is To Be Left Alone</b> <br />
<br />
We common Southerners (and most other Americans) prefer to be free to work, worship, and raise our children under the arrangement bequeathed us by our Founders. We do not wish to take that which is not ours or to deprive others of what is rightfully theirs. Nor do we wish to tell others how they ought to live. We are not driven by utopian ideologies or perverse fantasies. We do not wish to conquer the world and ride it, booted and spurred, to satisfy a lust for power and position. As Jefferson Davis said, all we wish is to be left alone. But we are not being left alone; on the contrary, we are being robbed blind by the biggest, most blatant and shameless heist in the history of the world. And not only is our wealth being taken, but our liberties as well. We are also being overrun by an alien population as a result of unlimited and illegal immigration from Latin America. <br />
<br />
So, you tell me who are the domestic terrorists? Those who wish to live in peace according to the original American arrangement or those who seek its overthrow for their own greed and ambition? <br />
<br />
That the criminal class that now runs America has tried to make us out to be the domestic terrorists ought to tell you something. They are projecting onto us the very characteristics they themselves possess. This dishonest process is called The Law of Preemptory Accusation—they hit you before you can hit them. If they’re thieves, they accuse you of theft; if they’re liars, they accuse you of lying. If they’re haters, they accuse you of hatred. You get the picture. <br />
<br />
It is not too late for the domestic terrorists that control this regime (both Democrats and Republicans, Washington and Wall Street) to back off and behave as they should. In truth, I believe they should apologize for all their crimes, return all they have stolen (with penalties and interest attached), pledge henceforth to obey the true and fundamental law of the land, and lock themselves up for a long stint in prison. In short, I believe they ought to be our servants and us their masters. I also believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. <br />

What follows are some ideas and guidelines for establishing LS county chapters. Please feel free to copy this tract and distribute it to our membership.</span></span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> </span> </span></div><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> <b><span style="font-family: Georgia;">I. STARTING A COUNTY CHAPTER</span></b> </span><br />
<div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> The League presently has a number of local chapters located in various towns and cities. If there is only one of these local chapters in a particular county, then that chapter is the natural nucleus for a countywide chapter. Where there are two or more local chapters extant in a county, the State Chairman should confer with the existing chapter heads about forming a larger county organization. These county chapters should serve as the League’s basic organizational building blocks.</span> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> To aid him in starting county chapters, each LS State Chairman should determine his membership in every county in the State (a large wall map with coloured push pins is a good method of doing this). If he then finds that there are several members in a particular county—but there is no countywide organization—he should then act immediately to bring them together in order to form a chapter.</span> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> It is not necessary to have a large membership in a county to begin a chapter. In fact, all that we need are a few active and dedicated members who are willing to act as organizers and officers. Once the State Chairman has brought together the disparate members (or local chapters) within a county, the following things should be done:</span> </span></div><ul><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;">
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;">1. A Provisional County Chairman should be appointed</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> 2. The Provisional Chairman should then select Provisional Officers from the</span></li>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">County LS membership</span>
<li> <span style="font-family: Georgia;"> 3. Those officers should consist of</span></li>
</span></ul><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> </span><br />
<blockquote><ul><li><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> A. A Vice-Chairman</span></span></li>
<span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;">
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> B. A Secretary-Treasurer</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> C. A Recruitment Officer</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> D. A Public Affairs and Media Officer</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> E. A Political Affairs Officer</span></li>
</span></ul></blockquote><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> Once the chapter is formed and staffed with Provisional Officers, the County Chairman should determine a date, time, and place for regular meetings. All meeting should be conducted according to League of the South protocol. Ideally, county meetings should be held weekly. Upon the establishment of a regular meeting schedule, the chapter, in cooperation with the State Chairman, should select permanent officers. To enhance communications within the chapter, an e-mail list and a telephone tree would be helpful.</span></span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> </span> </span></div><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b><span style="font-family: Georgia;">II. PROMOTING A COUNTY CHAPTER</span></b> <br />
</span></span><br />
<div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> Once the county chapter is formed, the next item of business should be to promote it throughout the county. In order to do this, all meeting should be held in a public venue and be open to the general public. The League does not operate in secret conclaves. A good way to publicize the county chapter and its goals (as well as the overall goals and objectives of the League) is to run advertisements in local newspapers, spots on local radio stations, and by word of mouth among friends and kinfolks. The intent should be to inform the county’s citizens of the existence of the chapter, its general principles, and information about its regularly scheduled meetings. Moreover, local LS leaders should approach elected and appointed officials on the city and county level and inform them of the chapter’s existence and goals. Prominent citizens should also be contacted for the same reasons. One of our intermediate goals in every county ought to be to make the League’s message palatable to average citizens. To do this, we do not water down our message or abandon our principles. Rather, by example, we show our fellow citizens that we are respectable and responsible, and wish only to advance the well being of our county. We simply have a new perspective (which is really an old, tried and true one) on how best to accomplish this objective.</span> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> If we can convince mayors, councilmen, commissioners, sheriffs, police chiefs, judges, and other officials that we hold true American (actually Southern) principles about politics and society, then they perhaps will be more likely to work with us. Also, do not neglect approaching newspaper editors and reporters and television and radio station managers and personnel. As our chapters grow larger, they will become real political and economic forces with their respective counties.</span> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> We must act as ladies and gentlemen in all that we do. The most effective way to persuade is by good example. The Bible tells us “By their fruits ye shall know them.” Let us bear good, sweet fruit for our counties by standing firmly on our commitment to the furtherance of Christian liberty.</span></span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> </span> </span></div><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b><span style="font-family: Georgia;">III. FUNDRAISING</span></b></span><span style="font-size: small;"> <br />
</span><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> Most League activities demand the expenditure of funds. Therefore, each county chapter must pay heed to fundraising. As League members, we are pledged to give “blood, treasure, and sacred honor” to our Cause. Our ancestors in both 1776 and 1861 dug deeply into their own resources (however meager they were in some cases) to finance their struggles for liberty. Within reason, we must do the same. However, there are other ways to raise resources. For example, a county chapter might assess regular dues from its members to fund local projects. Also, the chapter might produce and sell items such as bumper stickers, t-shirts, car tags, flags, etc. Be creative. You may decide to sponsor a barbeque, a car wash, a bake sale, or some other money-generating event. This is a good way to have some fun and meet local folks who may one day become members of the chapter. From time to time, you may find it necessary to confer with your State Chairman about securing funds from the State treasury for special projects.</span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> </span> </div><span style="font-size: small;"><b><span style="font-family: Georgia;">IV. ACTIVITIES</span></b></span><span style="font-size: small;"> <br />
</span><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> This is a random list of fifty activities in which county chapter might profitable engage:</span> </div><blockquote><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 1. Attend city council, school board, and other public meetings to express League positions and concerns.</span> </blockquote><blockquote><br />
<div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 2. Write letters-to-the-editor or guest editorials in your local newspaper. Always note that you are a LS member.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;">3. Donate pro-South books (e.g. The South Was Right!) to your local library. Be sure to have a local newspaper photographer or TV camera crew there when you make the presentation. This makes a good local story, especially in small towns.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 4. Find local merchants who will allow the distribution of League literature on their premises.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 5. Distribute League literature personally to family and friends.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 6. Set up a League booth or table at every public event in the county (e.g. Trade Days, Mule Days, Heritage Days, craft shows, historical commemorations, and assorted other events).</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 7. Have your own customized League of the South banner made to use at all public events.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 8. Get involved in local “conservative” social causes (e.g. protests against abortion clinics). This likely will put you in contact with potential recruits for the County chapter.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 9. Start a local “Buy Southern, Buy Local” economic campaign. Your local farmers and merchants will love this. Discourage people from doing business with out-of-State chain stores that drive locals out of business and hurt the “little man.” Some of these chains include Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Burger King, and . . . well, you know who they are.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 10. Give League award certificates to those who are patriotic enough to fly a Confederate flag at their residence or business.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 11. Offer to work in the campaigns of local candidates who hold our principles.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 12. Run a local LS member for office. For instance, the county sheriff is the supreme law enforcement officer in the county, and this includes both federal and State officials. Of all countywide offices, this is the one that our people need to control.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 13. Sponsor a LS Institute “Hedge School” in your county. To arrange one, call Dr. Don Livingston at (404) 377-2812.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 14. As individuals and as a community of Southern Patriots, become as self-sufficient as possible. For instance, form a Farmers’ Co-Op to encourage local agriculture; grow your own garden; if possible, raise chickens and keep a cow to provide eggs and dairy products for your family and friends; learn a new and practical skill and acquire the tools to do it. Use your imagination, the possibilities are virtually endless.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 15. Form a “Shooting Club” to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights and to learn gun safety and proficiency.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 16. Consider joining a good, solid, Biblically based church. Our ultimate goal, after all, is the restoration of Christian liberty to the South.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 17. Homeschool your children, or at least put them in a private, Christian academy. The public (or government) schools are nothing but anti-Southern, anti-Christian propaganda mills. Make this sacrifice for your children.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 18. Initiate local petition drives on various issues within your community. This is also a good way to build up a local mailing list.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 19. Issue “scorecards” on the voting records of local and State officials in your county. These, if publicized, put pressure on them to do the right thing.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 20. Arrange for public showings of LS videos (e.g. the 4 March 2000 “Southern Independence Day Celebration” in Montgomery). Also, check public access TV channels in your area and ask about showing our videos.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 21. Inform local leaders that less federal power means more local power. This appeal works with most politicians (when they have taken time to reflect on it).</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 22. Support only local charities so you can determine how and where your donations are used. Form an “Emergency Response Team” to help out victims of natural disasters (i.e. fires, floods, tornados, hurricanes, etc.). Start a local LS charitable organization to help the worthy poor and destitute in your area. But remember the Bible’s admonition: “He who will not work will not eat.”</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 23. Publish a local newsletter for your members.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 24. Use billboard ads for recruiting.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 25. Place LS brochures on vehicles that have pro-South bumper stickers or tags.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 26. Start a monthly reading club (for those so inclined) to discuss books on historical, literary, theological, or other subjects.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 27. Organize picket protests when necessary (e.g. at businesses that display anti-Southern actions and attitudes).</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 28. Provide assistance (financial and otherwise) for new parents who are local LS members. We need to populate the South with Confederates; however, having large families is often a strain on the resources of young couples. Help them out if you can.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 29. Buy time on a local talk radio station (say, one hour per week) and find someone to do a show on current events from a pro-South perspective.</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 30. Organize a Confederate Memorial Day Parade or some other event on the appropriate occasion (e.g. Jefferson Davis’s birthday, etc.).</span> </div></blockquote><blockquote><div align="justify"></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 31. Fly Confederate flags at your residence or business every day.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 32. Download and distribute copies of our tract entitled “On Secession and Southern Independence.” It is located on our website (www.dixienet.org).</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 33. Work with other pro-South and conservative groups in your county, and encourage cross-membership in the organizations (e.g. HPA, SCV, CSA, CofCC, etc.).</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 34. Buy and distribute LS audio- and videotapes. See www.dixienet.org for a complete list of these tapes.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 35. If you have attorneys among your membership, introduce them to the newly formed Southern Bar Association (contact Mr. Jack Kershaw at (615) 292-2316).</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 36. Encourage all County chapter members to attend the annual State Convention and the LS National Conference. Make plans to share rides and hotel rooms.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 37. Identify all Southern (including Confederate) historical and cultural sites in your County and preserve and protect them.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 38. Develop a phone tree and e-mail list to enhance local communications between officers and members. In cases where the transfer of information is sensitive, establish a secure means of communication.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 39. Establish regular communications with your State Chairman and Regional Director.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 40. Develop emergency rendezvous points throughout the County in case of natural disasters, etc. We want to be able to help our neighbors during a crisis. (See point #22 on “Emergency Response Team”).</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 41. Secure detailed topographic maps (including all back roads) of your County to familiarize yourself with the “lay of the land.” This resource will be invaluable should your Emergency Response Team have to react to a natural disaster.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 42. Read, study, and educate yourselves. Turn off the television and shut out the bankrupt culture of post-modern America. Promote the LS “Declaration of Southern Cultural Independence” at every opportunity.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 43. Always carry League literature on your person or in your vehicle. You never know when you might meet a potential recruit.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 44. Memorize the LS Statement of Purpose: “We seek to advance the cultural, social, economic, and political well being and independence of the Southern people by all honourable means.”</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 45. Make regular written reports (at least once per quarter) of your activities and plans to your State Chairman.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 46. Always be ready and willing to help other counties in your State get organized. Let them know what has and has not worked for you.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 47. Be good stewards of your own property. God demands this of us, and it makes a good impression on the community.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 48. Bring together like-minded musicians in the LS to form a band. Southerners are highly motivated by good, patriotic music (e.g. “Dixie,” “The Bonnie Blue Flag,” etc.).</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 49. Sponsor a local conference and Confederate Ball once a year. The League will, if you wish, provide speakers.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> 50. Pray daily that God will bless our Cause. This is really the first (and most important) thing we should do at the beginning of each day. Thus, we saved the best for last.</span></div></blockquote><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> The above fifty activities are by no means an exhaustive list. The particular circumstances within your respective counties may permit others. Be creative and use your imagination.</span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family: Georgia; font-size: small;"> Should you have questions, comments, or suggestions about County Chapter formation and activities, contact your State Chairman or the LS National Office.</span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-size: small;"><br />

</a> </div>Even though Sen. Carl Levin (D – MI) claimed weeks ago that he had placed enough loopholes in the wording to render the question moot, President Obama is reportedly still unhappy with the current military spending bill, complaining that the law regarding the treatment of detainees “challenges the president’s authority.”<br />
<img align="right" alt="" hspace="10" src="http://news.antiwar.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/obama1.jpg" vspace="10" />As written the bill, certain loopholes notwithstanding, demands that every “suspected terrorist” be placed immediately into US military custody, and that even American citizens captured in the United States on allegations related to terrorism cannot have access to the civilian legal system.<br />
Indefinite detention of American citizens without due process, incredibly, is not an issue that either side of the political process is debating. That ship sailed long ago, of course, and instead the question is if the president can order people indefinitely detained wherever he wants or if he has to disappear them only into a military brig.<br />
Republican Senators McCain (R – AZ) and Graham (R – SC) have pressed for the “military only” version on the grounds that anyone accused of terrorism “doesn’t deserve” to have access to anything but a military brig. The president’s argument isn’t any better for the detainees, and just claims that he, as the decider-in-chief, should get the decide exactly where people get disappeared to.Mark Jenkinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06639344026683731792noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6263945193839724997.post-68936929900086797002011-11-21T10:24:00.000-08:002011-11-21T10:24:21.886-08:00Serfdom, Revolution, Or Southern Independence<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px;">J. Michael Hill - LS President</span><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;">As the boot of centralized fascist-socialist tyranny pushes harder on our necks, we have three choices: 1) serfdom; 2) revolution; or 3) Southern independence. I would hope those reading this would have already omitted option number one from consideration. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> However, serfdom will likely be the choice of the majority of Americans (and maybe even of Southerners). Why? It is the easiest path. It requires one to do nothing out of the ordinary, to take no risks nor face any danger. Because most people like their bread and circuses and don’t want to be taken out of their comfortable day-to-day existence, they will chose serfdom and convince themselves it is the reasonable and even the patriotic thing to do. Others who might know better will choose this path because of fear. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The revolution option is infinitely better than serfdom, but it has its downside, too. Most revolutions, historically speaking, are bloody affairs that often, as it is said, “devour their own children.” Before you remind me of the successful American Revolution, please remember that that event was a secession movement against the British Empire and not a turning of the world upside down as was the French Revolution. Modern revolutions normally degenerate very quickly into chaos. Before you advocate letting the revolution genie out of her bottle, know this: the Feds may be inept at most things, but they have proven themselves expert at killing people and destroying things. Yes, it may have to come down to an armed stand off; however, there is a better way than out-and-out revolution that leads to this point. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> I prefer option three: Southern independence. Our States are historically the loci of ultimate temporal sovereignty within our federated, constitutional republic. The Founders intended it to be that way. Any of the Southern States (or any of the fifty) can assert that sovereignty anytime it wishes by withdrawing from the voluntary union of the States united. By withdrawing (or seceding) through the action of its legislature or another body elected for that specific purpose, the State is on solid legal and moral ground. Our lesser magistrates would be doing exactly what they should to protect the lives, liberty, and property of the State’s citizens against the encroachment of tyranny. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> A proper prelude to secession might be Nullification and Interposition. If the federal Congress, the President, or the federal courts (or any combination of the three) should commit unconstitutional acts against the States and the citizens thereof, a State could simply declare that action, be it a law, an executive order, or a legal ruling, to be of no effect within the State’s borders. Should the feds press the issue (which they likely would), then the State government (again, the lesser magistrate) would have the duty to interpose itself between its citizens and the federal forces arrayed against them. This might take the form of the mobilization of a true State Militia (not the National Guard, which can be “federalized”). This is why you should take the right to keep and bear arms seriously. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The use of Nullification and Interposition (and a subsequent secession) might, it is true, lead to armed conflict just as revolution would. However, the former would have the force of history and law on its side whereas the latter, though justifiable, would be more desultory, disorganized, and chaotic. I think it’s always better, at least for as long as possible, to have some lawful and time-honored precedents on your side. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Under present circumstances, brought upon us by both major political parties and our own lack of vigilance, I don’t see any other options but the three I’ve briefly outlined above. Because serfdom is out for most of those who will read this, we had better think long and hard about the other two options. We will have to choose one. I pray we choose wisely.</span></div><div align="justify"><br />

</div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;">From time to time, folks who read my essays and articles and hear my speeches will send me a sincere private query that can properly be summed up as such: “Why do you hate America?” <br />
<br />
My short answer is always pretty much this: “I don’t hate America. In fact, I love America. My home State of Alabama is part of America. Why would I hate America? But I do have great misgivings about our governing system and the people who are (and have long been) abusing it. And I would like to see Alabama and the rest of the South get out from under this corrupt system before it all sinks beneath the proverbial waves.” <br />
<br />
But allow me to elaborate a bit. What these folks are calling “America” was a great experiment in liberty brought to fruition by our Founding Fathers over two-hundred years ago. We were given a republic, if we could keep it. However, not all influential Americans at the time were supportive of the experiment and the constitution that provided its foundation. Patrick Henry of Virginia was one of many Southern skeptics who warned his fellow countrymen of placing too much trust in Yankees. Mr. Jefferson and other fellow republicans (please notice the lower case “r”—they had nothing to do with the later Party of Lincoln) echoed the sentiment and warned that the States and their citizens must have protection from the perils of a consolidated national government, hence the Bill of Rights. <br />
<br />
Well, the experiment of the late eighteenth century ended in 1860-61 when South Carolina and several other Deep South States thought it best to leave it and start another one of their own designs. But the new Republican (please notice the upper case “R”—they had nothing to do with the Jeffersonian republicans of an earlier era) Party administration of Abe Lincoln would have none of it; his threat to raise troops and force the wayward Southern sister States back into this voluntary union caused several other upper South States to join the CSA experiment. At the point, the “Union” army—which in reality was the U.S. Army (Southern men, don’t forget this when you consider enlisting)—invaded, and after four years of terrorizing the South with overwhelming force (including lots of European mercenaries and Socialists) they forced the South’s armies to surrender. <br />
<br />
The old voluntary union given us by the Founding Fathers was no more by mid-1865. The dire warnings of Mr. Henry and others had indeed come to pass. Lincoln and the GOP had overturned the work of Washington, Jefferson, and Madison, and the defeated Southern States were forced back into the new, involuntary creation. Once rich and politically influential, the South, albeit a new and reconstructed version, was to be poor and politically disenfranchised for decades to come. As the Rev. Robert L. Dabney, a Presbyterian minister and officer under Stonewall Jackson, told the victorious Yankees (and I paraphrase): “You won. Now the responsibility for the nation’s future is in your hands alone. We of the South are poor and weak. We can be of no effect in this matter.” <br />
<br />
Dabney probably knew the Yankees, in their great power axis from Washington to New York to Boston, would blow it. And he was right. The corruption we see today on the Potomac and Wall Street began right away with the Grant administration. Subsequently, we got an empire (the Yanks were just practicing on Dixie), a Federal Reserve system, an Income Tax, the 17th Amendment (which practically destroyed the 10th and States Rights), two World Wars, taken off the gold standard, a Great Depression, another invasion of the South through the civil rights movement (what we Southerners rightly call the Second Reconstruction), the moral rot of the 1960s, sunk up to the neck in the Middle East, three clueless Baby Boomer Presidents (Bill, George, and Barry), the USA Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Security, a police/surveillance State, and now bankrupted by the Banksters and their political whores in Congress. And I’m supposed to cheer all this on by singing the National Anthem, saluting the Stars and Stripes, and saying the Pledge of Allegiance? No thanks, I’ll pass. <br />
<br />
You see, the men I admire, from Henry and Jefferson through Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee, knew that this American experiment, if it were to work, had to be an agreement held sacred among principled and virtuous men. And they knew the character of the Yankee (and I’m not talking about righteous Northern Copperheads who supported the South). And that bad character has not changed one iota since the Late Unpleasantness of 150 years ago. But in the bargain, many Southerners have thrown over the principles of their ancestors and have joined in the looting and pillaging. If you can’t beat the Yanks, then join them. I’ll pass on this, too, thank you very much. <br />
<br />
The result of all this is that the U.S. government has become an organized criminal enterprise. Let that phrase sink in for a minute. If you still don’t believe it, then just pay attention for a little while; it’ll come to you. <br />
<br />
Coming as I do from the old Southern traditionalist/conservative position of Henry, Jefferson, Calhoun, Taylor of Caroline, et al, I cannot and will not give my allegiance to a counterfeit. I will not confuse true patriotism with the chauvinistic nationalism that cheers “puttin’ a boot up the ass” of the enemy <i>de jour</i> of the American empire. I will not keep quiet while all that my ancestors sweated, bled, and died to give me as an inheritance is stolen away by an alien people with an alien ideology. I will not keep quiet while my motherland—Alabama and the South—can still be saved from the clutches of a predatory ruling elite. And as a Southern Patriot, I will fight every day of my life to save her as long as God gives me the strength and resources to do so. <br />
<br />
And this is why I don’t hate America (at least the real America). <br />

<strong><span style="font-family: "Tahoma","sans-serif";">Guest speaker Adbur Haymes</span></strong></span></div></div><div class="MsoNormal">In the midst of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, one of war’s many dark spots was remembered Saturday in St. Mary’s County. More than 4,000 Confederate soldiers died at Pt. Lookout prisoner of war camp between 1863 and 1865 of the 50,000 soldiers held there. A memorial service in their memory was held at the National Confederate Cemetery in Scotland just north of the camp which is now part of Pt. Lookout State Park.</div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">The event was hosted by Captain Vincent Camalier, Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) Camp #1359 and the newly formed Southern Maryland Chapter #48, Order of the Confederate Rose, Private Jane Perkins.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Camp Commander Larry Messick welcomed everyone attending the event on the blustery day. Many of the attendees were dressed in re-enactor costumes. During the presentation of colors re-enactors representing a number of units surrounded the base of the Confederate monument.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Newly appointed Baltimore National Cemetery Superintendent Dr. Martha Rankin was on her first visit to Pt. Lookout. She said the area evoked different responses from different people, but she noted, “I can’t imagine anyone visiting here and not being moved. We share the inability to wrap our minds around the number of soldiers killed and wounded in the Civil War.” She added that sites such as Pt. Lookout are, “places for future generations to learn from.”</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Guest speaker was Adbur Haymes, director of operations at the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond and a retired U.S. Army Sgt. Major. Haymes, an African-American and an unabashed southerner, said “I say y’all and drink sweat tea.” He added he brought greeting from Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Haymes said of those who wound up at Pt. Lookout, “They were proud soldiers who did their duty following the orders of their president, Jefferson Davis and following the orders of their general, Robert E. Lee.”</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Haymes spoke lovingly of Gen. Lee and told how he agonized about joining the Confederacy. He told of leaving Arlington House after making that decision, never to return. He told of how soldiers were buried on the front lawn of Arlington House. Lee’s son filed suit in the 1890’s to regain control of their ancestral home and won that suit in the U.S. Supreme Court. The family was given the option to disinter the bodies, but realized that Gen. Lee would have not wanted that. Instead they sold the property to the U.S. for what is now Arlington National Cemetery.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Haymes called both Davis and Lee great men and said he is on a mission to rehabilitate the legacy of the president of the Confederacy.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Commander of the Southern Maryland Chapter #48, Order of the Confederate Rose Monie Harper told the story of Private Jane Perkins, after whom the chapter is named. She and her brother immigrated to America after the Irish Rebellion, ended up in Massachusetts, where they were not welcome and eventually settled in Virginia where she became a school teacher.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Jane’s brother enlisted in the Army of Northern Virginia and she joined him, first incognito as a man. She was captured during a battle in Hanover, VA and sent to Pt. Lookout, where she was the only woman. She was strip-searched upon arrival and she gave birth to a son while there (father unknown).</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Buck-Thompson described a feisty woman who told her captors, “I can straddle a horse, I can jump a fence and I can kill a Yankee.” After being sent to another prison her son was kept at Pt. Lookout and both of their ultimate fates remain a mystery today.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">During the ceremony the Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the National Anthem performed, the Salute to the Confederate Flag was also recited and Dixie performed. Maryland My Maryland, with its words “Despot’s Heel is on Our Shore” was also performed by musician Wally Ivanov. Wreaths were laid at the monument from several organizations.</div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt;"><div class="MsoNormal">Many of the re-enactors camped at the park on Friday evening.</div></div>Mark Jenkinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06639344026683731792noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6263945193839724997.post-90979300432772842112011-11-08T06:53:00.001-08:002011-11-08T06:53:57.601-08:00Great News! She wanted me to thank you all for your generosity and kindness. Moreover, I would like to thank you as well. By God's grace we were able to help Mrs. Wigginton and her family through this crisis to the point that they will now have a new home in which to live. Once it's completed and the family moves in, Sara and I will go down and take a look. We will take pictures and post them so you can see what your donations help us do for this family. <br />

It is the message of Southern independence from a sinking, corrupt, and destructive regime in Washington, DC. When our people hear this message, they usually react positively to it. After all, no one in his right mind wants to go down on an obviously sinking ship.</span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">But how many of them never hear our message because we stay "under the radar?" As much as we hate to admit it, our organization is still unknown to most Southerners. Why? One reason is the clutter of mass information - we get buried beneath the crush of topics that dominate both the conventional news cycle and the internet. Another is the nature of our message. It is unpopular with the "powers-that-be," including the news media; therefore, it is ridiculed, marginalized, or simply ignored. But perhaps the main reason we remain under the radar is the lack of funds to advertise our message.</span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">The League of the South Board of Directors has approved a major publicity campaign. It will take money to do a test run of this project. Though we are not yet at liberty to divulge all the details of this project (mainly because we think our enemies would try to prevent it), we are to the point where we are ready to raise the money to fund it.</span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">As President of the League, I am asking for at least 50 members or supporters to pledge $30 quarterly, $60 semi-annually, or $120 annually to this test project. Our ultimate goal is to raise $6000 ($1500 per quarter) over the next 12 months to put this publicity campaign to a real live test run. </span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">You can make a quarterly or semi-annual pledge (for which we will send you a "coupon book" as a reminder of your pledge) or you can simply make a one-time annual donation for the amount you wish to pledge. Anything we raise over and above the necessary amount will be placed in a special fund to help with the continuation of this project.</span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Though initially we are running a test (which we will be able to closely monitor), we believe the project has merit and thus will prove successful in getting us out from below the radar and into the eye of the Southern public. I am asking you to make a pledge today. Once we have the necessary funds committed and all the plans in place, we will announce the launching of this important project, first to League members and supporters and then to the general public.</span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">If we fund and plan it well, the project will draw a great deal of attention to our message.</span></div><div align="left"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Please make your contribution to the League office today by sending your donation by mail to: LS, PO Box 760, Killen, Alabama 35645 or by visiting our website at <span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT59"><a href="http://dixienet.org/members/Outreach_Project.php" target="_blank"><span style="color: black; font-size: small;">http://dixienet.org/members/Outreach_Project.php</span></a></span>. </span></div><div align="left"><br />

Quite the contrary, Lincoln recieved less than 3,000 votes in the entire State, which voted for Breckinridge, and the nickname originated from a newspaper editor who called it so in response to Marylanders being called traitors for refusing to enforce prohibition at the State level. Yep that’s right folks, up until 35 years ago, Maryland was a reliable State’s rights zone. Today, so many Yankees have migrated to the central portion of Maryland that many don’t even identify with the rest of the State as “Southerners,” let alone hold a positive view of the League of the South or secession movements sponsored by other regions of the State. But despite multiple organisational setbacks, the <a href="http://dixienet.org/rights/chapters2.shtml" target="_blank">Maryland Division League of the South</a> has seen a recent boom in State-wide interest. Just two months into the year, the division has made appearances on radio, and been defended by various local newspapers. This year’s first meeting was held at the end of January in La Plata, MD. While there was much lament over the state of affairs in Montgomery county, a virtual cancerous extension of Washington, D.C., the major activist planning revolved around bumper stickers and supporting businesses that serve sweet tea and display proper manners. Both important to the preservation of our culture, but hardly means by themselves for the resurrection of a sovereignty movement.<br />
<br />
When Thomas DiLorenzo, economics professor at Loyola University in Baltimore, was viciously attacked by a Missouri congressman for being tied to a “hate group,” <a href="http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2011-02-11/news/bs-md-loyola-professor-hearing-20110211_1_loyola-professor-religious-group-missouri-congressman/2" target="_blank">a front page story in the Baltimore Sun</a> raised many an eyebrow across the Old Line State. Even more shocking than the front page mention of the organisation, was the unbiased reporting normally lacking from the left-leaning news source. Members of the League of the South reported outsiders holding conversations about the article with positive reviews for the group and Ron Paul’s defense of it. For the first time in the history of the Maryland League, the League was publically on the offensive, and the detractors looked like the poverty pimps they are. Even Loyola University, which said it would certainly investigate any ties to “confirmed hate groups” by member professors, issued statements saying that the web site for the League of the South did not to their knowledge have anything hateful about race; in fact, the “free thinking” society called for an open debate and the issues the League claimed to represent were appropriate for discussion. Finally, consistency. The effect was that a large amount of Marylanders who had never before heard of the League were now introduced to it. Before they could be brainwashed into dismissing it as a hate group, such claims were already discounted. A barrier that often impedes even groups in the deep South was, at least temporarily, pushed aside. The time to advertise official positions of the Maryland League had come.<br />
<a href="http://southernnationalist.com/blog/2011/03/09/the-rebirth-of-the-free-state/maryland-regions/" rel="attachment wp-att-4621"><img alt="" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-4621" height="256" src="http://southernnationalist.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Maryland-regions.jpg" title="Maryland regions" width="407" /></a>Most bills in Maryland have two facts in common. First, it’s all about the dollar in Annapolis. Second, if it’s a liberal bill, it is generally only supported in the D.C. metro area. The reason for this second observation is because while Maryland’s counties may be very conservative overall, over half of the residents live in the counties surrounding the Washington region. Case in point: Montgomery county. Just 50 years ago, the county was reliably conservative, and one of the largest businesses in the county was tobacco farming. Fast-forward 50 years later, and the amount of <a href="http://southernnationalist.com/blog/2011/02/19/get-a-yankee-go-home-sticker/" target="_blank">Yankee (mostly New England) transplants</a> to Montgomery county alone has increased 2,600%. Yes, you read that right. For every Yankee living in the county 50 years ago, there resides 26 more today. And what could possibly draw so many Yankees to an area of Dixie that is well inland of the beaches and not exactly “endless summer” territory? Government jobs. And government workers almost always vote their paychecks. So not only did they bring their humanistic worldview, but their big-government voting paterns as well.<br />
<br />
There are the areas such as northern Prince George’s county (also adjacent Washington, D.C.) and Baltimore City, which have a majority black population, historically democratic. But it is the gerrymandering that prevents a lot of these areas from being competitive politically. When a black man such as Charles Lollar, a conservative who proved he could hang out in the Confederate flag-waving bars of St. Mary’s county for a half hour and walk out with $5000 in donations just by showing who he really represented, can win three quarters of his district by county and lose because of an area stretching out 15 miles from Washington, thereby losing the election, it is hard to see any real change. The result of such politics is areas like Solomon’s Island, with it’s pleasant Southron people and even a welcome sign reading “Welcome Y’all,” being “represented” by “men” like Hoyer who have no respect for the South as a whole, let alone his own district.<br />
<br />
The fact of the matter is, if the entire eastern shore of Maryland, one third of the State’s landmass, all of western Maryland, all of Southern Maryland, and even the central portions excluding those two counties by D.C. and the city of Baltimore votes reliably conservative on every issue, there is still usually a good chance they don’t get their way. The only logical solution is secession. Not only from the United States federal regime, but from the corrupt State government as well. Counties have pushed for it in the past. A decade ago, several eastern shore congressmen pushed for the secession of all 9 eastern shore counties. Just last year the commissioners of Frederick county in western MD considered a resolution to explore the ramifications of becoming their own State. But until now there has not been a unifying issue to push the eastern, southern and western portions to move on their threats together.<br />
<br />
With the economy tanking and the stability of the entire federal empire on the brink, the state legislature in Annapolis has decided it is a good time to tackle two primary issues: changing the State’s law defining marriage, and raising the tax on fuel at a time when $5.00 regular unleaded is being threatened for 2011. While the world focuses on the liberals in Wisconsin complaining about what the government may no longer give them, Annapolis is getting jammed daily with truck drivers and protestors afoot, taking a stand against a fuel tax that could increase as much as 13% in an already overtaxed State. This act by the legislature only serves as an attention getter to those otherwise sleeping throughout the land, screaming the need for a more permanent solution. And of course, the Maryland League of the South is here with solutions, advertising in the local and city papers and weekly services. The other bill, redifining marriage to be, for all intents and purposes, between anyone other than a man and his goat, may not even make it to the governor. The House of Delegates, otherwise more liberal of the two chambers, wrestles with how to vote for a “law” that even much of their constituents in the D.C. area (many of whom are either black or Catholic) are opposed to. The Senate president has already vowed that if the law is signed, he will personally see to it that there is a referendum on the 2012 ballot. Should the law be passed, don’t expect the news media to report on the possibility of a referendum until just before the election next year. They know once it is given to the people, it doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in Miami. With this issue, the Maryland League of the South has even gained permission from some of the top talk radio stations in the State to run pro-traditional Southern values commercials during peak listening time. These commercials are running, and even advertise Dixienet.org and the Maryland League of the South by name.<br />
<br />
The fight here, just below the Mason-Dixon line, is not so much one to prove our postion, as it is to unify the people under one banner against all overbearing government. In Maryland, we can take several examples. The first being just how corrupt a State government, even in the South, can become when enough outsiders with hostile views inhabit one area. It is a warning States like Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia should heed sooner, rather than later. But the second example is how fast a foothold can be gained when people decide they have been pushed too far.<br />
<br />
It is time all Southrons stand up and decide they have reached this point. Some of us are worse off, and some of us have yet to have our lives altered by this beast. But we all must take a stand for the cause of our independence. The sun is setting on this day and rising on a new one. It’s too late to be apathetic. It’s never too late to stand for the truth.Mark Jenkinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06639344026683731792noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6263945193839724997.post-75648296445699083622011-05-31T15:55:00.000-07:002011-05-31T15:55:00.471-07:002011 LS National Conference<div class="post-header"> </div><div class="post-body entry-content" id="post-body-8089070474690025682"> <center><span style="color: #9f0000; font-family: georgia; font-size: 24px;">~ CONFERENCE AGENDA~ </span><br />

<div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> <br />
</span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> “<b>Our Rights are like a cookie. No matter how big the cookie and how small the bites, eventually you run out of cookie.</b>”<br />
</span></div><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> —Mike Crane <div align="justify"> A very wise man, one for whom I have great respect, recently issued what seemed to be a challenge, “Was all y'all's talk about <i>states' rights</i> just whiskey talk, or do y'all really believe it?” Then he followed with, “If you <i>do</i> really believe it, then get liquored up and write an article!” </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> So this POOR (Plain Ole Ordinary Redneck) mountain moron got to thinking about that. In my younger years it has been rumored by some that I got liquored up once or twice, but I can’t remember a thing about it. Some said that was the effect of the liquor. Now that I am kind of the opposite of a youngun, I can’t remember getting liquored up at all. Some say that isn’t the effect of liquor. Life is like that at times -- what was isn’t, and what is wasn’t. </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> Of course, English majors will just go berserk over that last sentence; but it does apply to a discussion of States’ Rights in the year A.D. 2010, even if it is some of the poorest English grammar of the year. What was State’s Rights isn’t what it is today. What is States’ Rights today isn’t what it was. </div><div align="justify"> To begin, I will put on my virtually unused and in brand new condition English grammar hat and point out that the apostrophe is in the wrong place. It should be State’s, not States.’ And the word Rights should be Powers. </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> Why States’ vs. State’s? In the founding concept of American liberty, the primary purpose of government is to guarantee the rights of the people, which are derived from God. To accomplish this primary function of government, the power to govern was divided between a person’s State and The (several) States as a group (or the central government). States’ is the plural possessive. It references The States as a group and is thus the same as saying Federal Rights. So you could argue that people today who speak of States’ Rights have lost part of the basic concept before they even get started. </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> Why Rights vs. Powers? The second word of the phrase is also misused. Rights are given to the people by God, not to their State, a group of States, or to a central government. States do not have rights; they have powers to govern that have been granted by the sovereign people. That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the concept of American liberty. Government at every level is supposed to execute only those powers for which the people have granted the authority. Any debate that begins with the “Rights” of any government at any level has most likely been lost from the outset. Even if the effort seems to have initial success, in the end it only winds up chipping away at our God-given Rights. </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> But for the sake of this article let’s just leave the above for consideration, thought, and prayer by the reader. Of those three, prayer should be the most important, giving thanks for the Rights that have been bestowed upon us by our Maker and asking forgiveness for being so complacent in giving His gifts away. </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> From my perspective it is easy to identify what States’ Rights (or more accurately, State’s Powers) are not. States’ Rights are (is) not a slogan to be used to stop ObamaCare or Obama Cap and Tax or any other of the Obama socialist programs coming out of Washington City like a swarm of katydids. States’ Rights are (is) not a slogan to stop the Bush Patriot Acts or Bush CAFTA and other expensive trade agreements. By the same token, States’ Rights are (is) not a slogan to stop DFACS (Department of Children and Family Services) from illegal search and seizures, or some idiot in Atlanta telling me I do not have the proper permit to raise a duck unless the duck’s great grandmother’s owner had a proper permit! </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> Now think about that last example. When someone says that States’ Rights will solve all of our problems, are they suggesting that it is proper to require a documented duck’s ancestry of suitable quality for a citizen to feed the duck and give it a home? Is such nonsense acceptable simply because it's being perpetrated by an idiot in Atlanta, Montgomery, Nashville or Columbia instead of an idiot in Washington City? A silly example, maybe. But once you concede Rights to any government entity you have lost that Right – most likely forever. Even worse is that your children and grandchildren will not even know that it is something that you lost and that they were denied! </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> Today the debate should be about how State Powers will be used as a check on Federal Powers to guarantee our God-given Rights. It should be about how delegated Powers given to the Federal government will be used to guarantee our God-given Rights in areas that extend beyond the State in which we live. Otherwise, all of the rhetoric, all of the campaigning, and all the elected officials' use of today’s (improper) definition of States’ Rights will only determine how fast we go over the cliff. </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> American liberty is rapidly approaching the cliff. It's up to you the citizen to change that direction if it's going to be changed. You have only this recourse at your disposal. Demand that all levels of government keep their hands off your God-given Rights unless the people grant them a Power to do so. Elect only those officials who are willing to abide by this restriction. Retire any elected official who abuses or usurps that which God has given you. </div><div align="justify"><br />
</div><div align="justify"> Arguing about which level of government will do a better job abusing your God-given Rights makes for interesting partisan battles, but it's a formula for failure year after year, election after election, and decade after decade -- as we have seen. After all, those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. In summary: what was State’s Rights isn’t what it is today. What is <a href="http://southernnationalcongress.org/truths/what_is_states_rights_crane_p2_20100103.shtml" target="_blank">States’ Rights</a> isn’t what it was. What your Rights will be is up to you. <br />

<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 18px;"> </span> <span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span><br />
<div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"><img align="right" src="http://www.southernnationalcongress.org/truths/images/tobbaccofield.jpg" /> Not too many years ago in the county where I was born, summer morning mists would hang over acres and acres of tobacco, a crop we have been raising for almost four centuries. Today, however, because most of our farmers have taken a government buy-out, it is, sadly, a surprise to come across a field topping out along a back road in August. If there is anything I associate more with my country upbringing and Southern heritage than the gummy weed so despised by anti-smoking crusaders, it would have to be that other staple of Southern agriculture, the hog. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> In years gone by even county people who were not farmers kept three or four of them, and every fall our hogs met their inevitable demise. By the time I was in junior high school, I was far too sophisticated --and deracinated-- to appreciate the rustic rituals of autumn, wishing with all my heart I had been born a city girl and not some hick who had to live on a tobacco farm and eat "hug" meat. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> But as a child, I had happily run barefoot up the path behind our house to the pen to watch my father feed the animals we raised each year. I enjoyed watching them eat and liked the mealy aroma of mash and water feed and how it coated their pretty pink snouts as they dipped them in the trough. I liked to scratch their backs and hear them grunt. I even liked the "smell" of the hogs themselves. Somehow it was not unpleasant to me. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Daddy loved his hogs and hated killing them. To spare them suffering, he hired a highly-regarded black neighbor to shoot them before slitting their throats. In pork-pie hat and galluses, a cigar in his mouth, Spencer Barnes aimed his rifle at each beloved head dropping one after the other to the hard ground. The Pennsylvania Dutch, who had come to the county in the thirties, did not kill their hogs before bleeding them, and my brother saw an Amish farmer beat with a board one poor thing that had broken its leg and wasn't moving fast enough to the slaughter to suit him. But my people were gentle. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"><img align="left" src="http://www.southernnationalcongress.org/truths/images/pigs.jpg" /> To them hog killing was a big event. Family came to help; and also Agnes, the woman who had taken care of us children over the years and who was given to the telling of ancient and quite often gruesome tall tales. Until late into the night everyone sat around a large table in the kitchen cutting up the meat. It fell to my mother to prepare the country sausage, and she took great care in seasoning this delicacy, adding just the right amount of red pepper and sage and expertly twisting the plumped up casings into the links that would hang from tobacco sticks in the unctuous chill of a December meathouse. In the spring, we would take down from the rafters a moldy Easter ham and scrub it off, stuffing it with greens and onions and boiling it in a pillowcase for the holiday dinner. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> I am proud of such experiences and proud of my Southern agrarian roots-- now. Though I returned to the county from the North almost thirty years ago, as a young woman I was anxious to shake off the sandy soil of a Maryland tobacco farm and eventually married a Midwesterner, moving to exotic places such as Minnesota and Iowa. It was in Iowa one gray winter day when the snow lay in dishwater dingy piles, that I saw a semi rig hauling some hogs to market. My heart broke for them. Hogs should not be treated this way. They should live in a small pen and be loved by tender-hearted people who speak softly to them and scratch their backs and who kill them with mercy and respect for the sustenance they provide. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> But I have not turned into a militant vegetarian. No one loves country ham more than I do. I baste it in Jack Daniels. And I pride myself on my greens and fatback. As I grow older, however, I feel increasingly guilty about buying corporate meat, about buying that plastic tube of Old South-style sausage at the supermarket. Animal rights types are not necessarily wrong in calling attention to the miseries that most livestock endure before their final terrifying moments in a gigantic slaughter house. And right-wing radio talk show personalities might ridicule anyone who protests the plight of corporate farm animals, but, in truth, a little kindness towards the creatures over which God has given us dominion isn't left-wing or radical. It is simply Christian. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Because most people today might not find it practical to keep hogs out back, buying meat on the hoof or meat products from a farmer we know and trust would seem a good alternative to supporting the big agricultural conglomerates. The totalitarians in DC, however, through increasingly complex regulation, threaten small farming operations, and the Southern National Congress has now called on the federal government to end its sponsorship of big agribusiness and to "restore the common law rights of farmers to sell at farm gate." </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> In first and foremost defending the Christian agrarian substrate of Southern society, we begin to frustrate the American Empire's plans to control even the most seemingly mundane aspects of our lives. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> ________________________________ </span></div><br />

The premier US publication tracking congressional votes and US politics, the <i>Congressional Quarterly</i>. The same South appeared in a highly significant 3-9 March 2007 special report in London’s influential <i>Economist</i> magazine. </span><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> State by state, this political South parallels rather closely the present cultural South, though in certain areas of these thirteen States (southern Florida and south Texas) Southern culture no longer dominates. On the other hand, areas beyond these thirteen States maintain their Southern culture to varying degrees. Much of Missouri remains basically Southern, as do parts of southern Maryland and Maryland’s eastern shore. Some say southern Delaware is Southern still. </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> West Virginia is a difficult state to sort out. Formed unconstitutionally under the Lincoln presidency to drive a wedge into the South and increase Republican congressional representation, many West Virginians believe their interests differ strongly from those of the Old Dominion, and while culturally Southern seem to prefer the description of “mountaineer” to “Southerner.” Maryland and Delaware have become so liberal that they fit with the Northeast politically, even though some areas there remain politically conservative and definitely Southern in outlook and culture. </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The US Census Bureau continues to place West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia within the South. However, the Bureau classes Missouri as a Midwestern state, although today it is politically more conservative in a traditionally Southern sense. Of the thirteen States constituting this “South,” Florida ranks overall as the least southern, primarily because of the massive numbers of Northern, Cuban, and Haitian immigrants who have settled in the Sunshine State. Yet measured by congressional votes, it remains politically a Southern State. Texas is in a category by itself, the western South. </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The loss of south Florida and south Texas from the cultural South sharply illustrates what happens when large numbers of immigrants arrive. <i>Culture follows demography</i>. For more than twenty years south Florida has been described as part of the Caribbean, because of the huge influx of Cubans and Haitians. Both south and central Florida are so dominated by Yankees that Southern culture there has been stretched very, very thin – much of it has become wholly unSouthern. As parts of Florida have become Caribbean, so, too, south and southwest Texas have become part of greater Mexico. </span><br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> <b>A Place & Name Among The Nations</b></span></div><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"><b> </b> </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> In spite of these losses, <i>the South remains one of the most important nations of the earth.</i> Today “nation” usually refers to an independent political sovereignty, but originally it meant “a people with a sense of their own identity, occupying a certain territory that is their historic homeland.” </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> A politically independent sovereign state is not required for “nationhood.” Scots form a “nation” although they do not have their own state. The South remains very much a nation even though it has not been an independent sovereign “nation-state” since 1865. Even then the Confederate States of America were not a unitary state but a confederation of independent sovereign States. </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The Latin root of “nation” comes from a word that means “to be born.” Blood, kin, family, past, tradition, place, and culture are all bound up in what it means to be a nation. Once Southerners understand that they are a classic nation by the core meaning of the word, they would be cowardly and disloyal not to preserve their own unique culture and society. </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The West, including the United States, has taken the path of wholesale national suicide, driven by a multi-cultural globalist agenda. Today’s Western regimes are building a global state, reducing peoples and nations with all their wonderful variety to one homogenized Big Mac. An unbridgeable chasm separates Southerners’ values and vision from the leaders of these regimes. Against their citizens’ wishes, they want to replace national loyalty with loyalty to a universal abstract state under the banner of spurious “equality.” </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Western regimes (including the US) are attempting to re-build the tower of Babel, creating their own version of “heaven on earth.” Southerners have wisdom enough to know that whenever fallen men set out to create heaven on earth it always becomes “hell on earth.” (Southerners may not be perfect, but we are realistic.) </span><br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> <b>Nations Without States</b></span></div><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"><b> </b> </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The 2002 <i>Encyclopedia of the Stateless Nations</i>, in four volumes, followed a 1996 publication of a one volume work, <i>Nations Without States.</i> We have heard of only a handful of the many nations who want their national status recognized and a nation-state of their own. Scotland and Quebec are probably the two stateless nations you have heard most about, but since 1946 over <i>half </i> of the nation-states of the earth have achieved independent political status by secessions or separations from larger political entities. <i>Centralized states are dying. Secession is the wave of the future.</i> </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> After Lithuania seceded, the Soviet Union broke apart into the separate nations which had been forcibly yoked together under communism. Eastern Europe, formerly under Soviet hegemony, has also seen new nation states emerge from ancient nationalities. </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The <i>Encyclopedia of the Stateless Nations</i> describes no fewer than 350 nations without states! To be listed, the nation must have 1) a flag; 2) a sense of identity as a special people; and 3) an organization(s) working to achieve a greater degree of recognition and autonomy, including, for many, nation-state status itself. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> <b style="color: #990000;">Does The South Qualify?</b></span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"><b> </b> </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> The South easily meets these criteria. Southerners have many flags. The <i>Encyclopedia</i> describes the Confederate Battle Flag as “the Southern national flag,” but also gives the Stars and Bars as a national Southern flag. We have a very well developed and extremely widespread sense of Southern identity, and the <i>Encyclopedia</i> lists nineteen organizations as Southern national organizations. </span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> In the article on “Southerners” under the subtitle “People and Culture” we find this assessment: </span><br />
<blockquote><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> “Southerners are considered one of the major branches of the American nation, being the descendants of the original European settlers of the southern colonies established by settlers from the British Isles in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. By far the largest of the three original Anglo-American cultural areas, the South has always been the most idiosyncratic with respect to national norms. Although there are great regional differences between the inhabitants of the vast area, the cultural heritage of the Deep South remains the focus of modern Southern culture. Southern culture is still observable in almost every realm of activity, including the rural economy, regional dialects, diet, folklore, politics, architecture, recreation, and social customs.”</span></blockquote><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Amazingly, <i>Southerners are the second most populous stateless nation included in the encyclopedia,</i> after the Tamils of southern India. <br />
Astonished? There’s more. The South’s world status is further substantiated by the March 2007 <i>Economist,</i> published in London. This presents the South to the world as a great place for business, with a surging economy growing faster than the US economy, a region with “song, flavour and charm,” building on its “traditional” strengths of “southern hospitality,” southern cuisine, and attractive weather. Eighteen of the top 30 “best performing” cities in the US lie in the South. Since 1990 the number of jobs in the South has risen by a third while their number in the US as a whole has risen only by a quarter. <i>The Economist</i> also notes that the Southern share of US gross domestic product (GDP) has risen from 22% in 1963 to 31% today. <i>The Economist</i> recognizes that areas of the South, especially rural areas and some cities, such as New Orleans, remain poor, and that prosperity is “unevenly spread.”<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>What About Racism?</b></div><b> </b> <br />
The editors see the South as “A good place to be black,” citing a Pew Research Center Poll of 2003. That poll found a higher percentage of Southern than non-Southern blacks saying that discrimination against them is rare. Blacks are materially better off in the South where their income is 99% of the black US norm and their living costs lower. Three times as many blacks move to the South each year as leave it. The special report also points out that although the South contains only slightly more than half of American blacks, <i>two-thirds</i> of the 9,101 US black elected officials reside in the South. Mississippi alone has 54 black mayors.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Are We Populous Enough?</b></div><b> </b> <br />
In 2006, 101 million people lived in the South. In 1993 the South had 81 million people, about the size of then recently united Germany. Today Germany has grown to only 82.4 million, and is already losing population due to birth rates well below replacement levels. The other leading Western European nations, France with 60.9 million people and the U. K. with 60.7 million people in 2006 have far fewer people than the South. European population is growing very slowly, and in some cases already falling. In spite of rapid Third World population growth , the thirteen State South remains twelfth in population of all the nation-states of the earth, as it was in 1993.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Are We Prosperous Enough?</b></div><b> </b> <br />
Under the old method of calculating GDP (gross domestic product), which used official currency exchange rates instead of purchasing power parity, the thirteen Southern States had the world’s fourth largest economy 1990, behind the US, Japan, and united Germany. Today we have moved <i>to the third strongest economy in the world,</i> easily surpassing Germany by almost a trillion dollars (Southern economy: $3.548 trillion dollars in 2004; German economy, $2.741 trillion dollars in 2004). <br />
Under the purchasing power parity method developed in 1998 for determining GDP, the thirteen State South again has the <i>fourth largest economy on earth.</i> Under the new method, China’s economy has grown so fast that Asian super tiger is rapidly catching up with the entire US economy. The GDP figures for 2005 in trillions of dollars under the new method are: <br />
<ul><li><div align="justify">United States, 12.36 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">China, $8.86 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">Japan, $4.02 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify"><b>The South, $3.73 trillion</b></div></li>
<li><div align="justify">India, $3.61 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">Germany, $2.504 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">United Kingdom, $1.83 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">France, $1.82 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">Russian Federation, $1.59 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">Brazil, $1.56 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">Canada, $1.11 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">Mexico, $1.07 trillion</div></li>
<li><div align="justify">Spain, $1.03 trillion</div></li>
</ul><br />
In area the South’s vast territory stretches essentially as far as all of Western Europe north of the Pyrenees and the Alps (though including Switzerland). Subtract the almost uninhabited cold northern regions of Norway and Sweden and the South would have more land than all of Western Europe. The South’s homeland has more territory than the nation-states of France (close to the size of Texas), Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Norway and Sweden (minus the latter two’s frozen regions), with the tiny nations of Andorra, Liechtenstein, and Monaco thrown in for good measure. These countries have over 260 million people and include the three dominant nation-states of Europe, Germany, France, and the U. K. Even the smallest Southern State, South Carolina, has more land than Ireland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Lithuania, Israel, Lebanon, Kuwait, and many other nation-states of the earth.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>But Don't We Already Have The Best Of All Worlds?</b></div><b> </b> <br />
The South has the population, land area, economy, resources, knowledge, and innovative skill to be one of the most formidable nation-states of the earth. But why, many might ask, should the South give up a good thing when it has so much going for it? <br />
A basic and practical answer is this: “the world the South would make for her people differs vastly from the world the US regime is constructing.” Time and again on issues affecting a people’s most basic values and institutions, the rest of the US has overridden Southern beliefs, values and policy choices. This radical difference in values between the South and the rest of the US is reflected in the US congress’ actual votes. <br />
The George W. Bush Republican ascendancy has not changed this. If anything, it has made things worse. The US congress continues to override Southern congressmen on key issues affecting our way of life. A sample of these congressional votes further confirms that if the South were in charge of her own destiny, life would be much closer to what we as Southerners believe, value, and desire.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Immigration</b></div><b> </b> <br />
One outstanding example is the May 2006 McCain – Kennedy Immigration Bill which passed the full Senate by the substantial margin of 62 – 36. This bill put millions of illegal aliens on track for US citizenship and, some have argued, would have increased <i>legal immigration from around one million immigrants each year at present to at least two million annually.</i> This was a major piece of special interest legislation, benefiting big corporations with dirt cheap immigrant labour at the expense of the native-born American worker. <br />
Seventeen Southern Senators voted against this horrendous “abolition of America” bill, while only nine voted in favour. Outside the thirteen Southern States, the vote in favour was 53 against only 19 against. The South voted essentially two to one against McCain – Kennedy, while the remainder of the US voted close to three to one for it. <br />
The list of lickspittle lackeys promoting the South-busting American Regime is long, and includes both Republican and Democratic leaders as well as the American educational establishment, mainstream media, entertainment industry, corporate business community, and many religious, cultural, and societal leaders. The pattern of overriding our wishes has been so consistent over the past four decades that every observer must admit the truth: irreconcilable differences separate Southerners from other Americans, and the South would be much better off as a politically independent Republic steering her own destiny.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Impeachment</b></div><b> </b> <br />
Another stark Southern – US split occurred when the Senate voted on President Clinton’s impeachment verdict. The whole Senate voted to acquit Clinton on both impeachment charges while Southern Senators voted two-thirds in favour of convicting Clinton of obstruction of justice (18 to 8). If the South had been in charge, President Bill “the Lecher” Clinton would have been the first president in U.S. history to have been removed from office by impeachment.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Election</b></div><b> </b> <br />
If the South had had its way, however, Clinton would not even have been elected in the first place. In both 1992 and 1996 the South voted for the Republican nominee for President, <i>i.e.,</i> the candidate generally <i>perceived</i> to be more conservative (regardless of the reality).<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Taxes</b></div><b> </b> <br />
On tax policy, the South almost always votes for lower taxes, and is sometimes overridden by the US congress. In 1998 the thirteen State South voted by the required two-thirds margin for a constitutional amendment to require a two-thirds vote of both houses of congress to raise taxes. Southerners voted in favour of this constitutional amendment 90 to 41. In the full House the amendment failed by 238 to 186 opposed, far short of the constitutionally required two-thirds margin.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Religious Freedom</b></div><b> </b> <br />
Also in 1998, Southern Representatives voted by the requisite two-thirds “super majority” to submit to the States the Religious Freedom Constitutional Amendment. It would have guaranteed an individual’s right to pray and recognize his religious beliefs on public property, including schools. The house of representatives as a whole rejected this amendment by a vote of 224 in favour to 203 opposed, falling miserably short of the necessary two-thirds margin.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>States' Rights</b></div><b> </b> <br />
In 1997 Senator Hutchinson of Arkansas offered an amendment to abolish the National Endowment for the Arts and transfer its fiscal 1998 funding directly to the States. The South voted for this State Rights proposal by the ample margin of 17 to 9, whereas the full Senate rejected this affirmation of the rights and duties of the States by the almost equally strong margin of 63 against to only 36 for.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #990000;"> <b>Conclusion</b></div><b> </b> <br />
Living under the yoke of the Yankee empire has already damaged our Southern culture. Will we be able to leave any of it to our children and grandchildren? Not if the yankee empire has its way. <br />
The South as its own nation is more than powerful, populous, and prosperous enough to assume its place among the nations of the earth <i>today.</i> For the South, secession is the only practical, the only realistic, and the only moral choice.<br />

Likewise, the needs of our people are great (some of them League members). If you would like to help, please send a donation via our secure credit card system (see link below) or send your check or money order to the League office here in Killen marked <b>Tornado Fund</b>. I'll make sure it goes to buy what's most needed--bottled water, non-perishable food items, ice, gasoline (in short supply in many places) for running chain saws, generators, etc. Even if you can send only $10, that will buy a couple of cases of bottled water. I plan on making several runs next week to some of the small towns here in NW Alabama. Of course, I would very much welcome any aid you might give by helping me make some of these deliveries both in Alabama and elsewhere. </span></div><div align="justify"><span style="color: black; font-family: georgia; font-size: 14px;"> Please send whatever you can (as quickly as you can) using your credit card:<br />
